A special patrol team of Border Guard Bangladesh Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB) led a successful operation in Chapainawabganj with the cooperation of army and police and recovered 17 fresh cocktails, the cocktails were hidden by the miscreants as part of the plan to create chaos.
According to information provided by BGB, based on secret information, explosives were hidden in the forest behind Odud Recreation Park of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila. In view of this news, on October 5, the special patrol team of Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB), the army and the police conducted a joint operation.
Around 12 noon, a plastic bag was found in the thick forest of the mango garden of Md. Yusuf Rana, father-deceased Abdus Salam of Dakshin Shabar village of Sadar Upazila. Later, when the bag was opened in the presence of an explosives expert, 17 fresh cocktails kept in a plastic bucket were recovered. The recovered cocktails were later handed over to Chapainawabganj Sadar police station.
Commander of Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB) Lt. Col. Md. Monir-uz-Zaman, PSC confirmed the operation and said, "BGB is conducting regular and special patrols to maintain law and order in the border area as well as in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila. Arms, explosives and narcotics. BGB continues to adopt a zero tolerance policy against them and such operations will continue in the future as well."
Through this operation BGB and joint forces were able to foil the sabotage plan of miscreants in Chapainawabganj, which helped to maintain local security.
