Army visit to Pujamandap in Kurigram

In order to maintain law and order situation in Kurigram and to observe autumn Durga Puja peacefully and undisturbed, a team of Bangladesh Army has intensified the inspection and patrolling of puja mandap in different upazilas of the district. In 9 upazilas of the district, 540 mandabes are working to celebrate puja.
To maintain the bond of harmony, army patrols paid a courtesy call on the Puja Celebration Committee and the Malakars and expressed their cooperation. The army has stepped up its patrols in the remote areas, bringing relief to the public.
Major in charge of Bangladesh Army Kurigram district. Mashroor Elahi said, we have already visited the pujamandaps of Kurigram Sadar, Rajarhat, Chilmari and Nageshwari upazilas. Various issues were discussed there with local people, committees and Malakars. We are going to all upazilas in stages. Also, operations to arrest drug and arms dealers, casino operators identified during the inspection have been continued. Besides, the government is determined to enforce the law more strictly than before to keep the law and order situation normal. So no one should take the law into their own hands.
