A young man has gone missing after his boat capsized in Kurigram

A boat sank in Kurigram's Roumari. Later one person was rescued alive but a youth named Shaha Alam (18) is still missing.

On Sunday (September 15), the boat sank in the Holhalia river, a branch of the Brahmaputra river in the Roumari upazila of the district. The missing Shah Alam is the son of Rahmat Ali of Sakhipur area of ​​Gazipur. Shaha Alam and his cousin Sajib along with Nana Bari came to visit Roumari's Khanar Char Paschim Para.

Locals said that the missing Shaha Alam and his cousin went for grazing in a dinghy from Khanar Char. Later on the way back, the boat capsized in Holhalia river. Sajib was later rescued alive, but Shah Alam was nowhere to be found. After receiving information, Roumari and Jamalpur fire service personnel came and carried out rescue work.

Abdul Alim, the leader of Roumari Fire Service confirmed the truth of the incident and said that we are working to find the missing youth in the river.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Roumari Police Station Golam Mortuza said that the incident of boat sinking has taken place in Holholia river. One person was rescued alive but one is still missing.
