A protest march and human chain were held in Tangail's Madhupur demanding justice for the death threat to prominent businessman and BNP leader Anwar Hossain. Organized by people from all walks of life of Madhupur, people from all walks of life including BNP held a protest march in Madhupur town on Monday afternoon. Thousands of people joined the procession.
At the end of the rally, a member of the National Executive Committee of BNP formed a human chain in front of the Madhupur office of Advocate Mohammad Ali. Eminent businessman and BNP leader Anwar Hossain, former vice president of Upazila BNP Zainal Abedin Bablu, former organizational secretary Humayun Kabir Talukdar, former general secretary of Municipal BNP Abdul Latif Panna, former joint secretary Asad Sarkar member secretary Madhupur Upazila Svechchasevak Dal Mominur spoke at Manav Bandhan. Islam Member Secretary Madhupur Municipal Volunteer Team Khandkar Maruf Hossain and others.
Speakers said that last Sunday afternoon in Dhalpur area of Madhupur Upazila, BNP general secretary Nashir Uddin openly threatened to cut off the hands and feet of prominent businessman and BNP leader Anwar Hossain in a political public meeting. The video of the threatening speech went viral on social media. The speakers demanded justice for the threat maker Nasir Uddin. Prominent businessman and BNP leader Anwar Hossain filed a general diary in Madhupur police station as a plaintiff in this regard.
