Miscreants attack shrine of Hazrat Shah Paran (RA), 40 injured

At least 40 people were injured in a clash between clerics and mobs at Shahparan shrine in Sylhet's Khadim area. Clashes on both sides lasted for two and a half hours from 2 pm to dawn on Monday. Later, an army team came and brought the situation under control.
Locals said that since the last 3 days, annual Ors was going on at Shahparan shrine. Based on this Ors, there is a drug festival around the shrine for about a year. Various anti-social activities are going on. In this context, a few days ago, the scholars of Sylhet held a meeting with the management committee of Samaj Shahparan Shrine and Mosque and decided that no anti-social activities should take place in the name of Ors. In the meeting, the leaders of the committee also promised that there will be no immoral activities in the shrine.
Meanwhile, a delegation of scholars-society kept vigilance in the shrine area to ensure that no one creates chaos during the auras. Even on Monday night, they stay on the steps of the shrine's mosque.
Meanwhile, some people wearing red clothes started attacking them. Then the students and teachers of the madrasa took shelter inside the mosque. The attackers positioned themselves outside and surrounded them as well. On hearing the news, hundreds of people from the neighboring Haripur area came with sticks and rescued the students and teachers who had taken shelter in the mosque. They destroyed the tents of the people who came to Orse. There was a clash between the two sides and 40 people from both sides were injured. Later, around 4:30 am, an army team came and brought the situation under control
