Patients suffer due to power load-shedding as generators are idle in hospitals

Chilmari Upazila Health Complex of Kurigram is plagued with various problems. Due to load shedding of electricity as the generator is not working, the patients are suffering unbearable.
Due to shortage of doctors, inpatients and outpatients are not receiving timely medical care. Ershadul (49), an admitted patient who came to the hospital, said that he was injured in an accident on Tuesday morning and was admitted to the hospital. He saw the doctor only once in 24 hours. No doctor came.
Saju Miablen from Jorgach of Ramana Model Union, I have been standing for 1 hour and till now the doctor has not been seen. I will stay for a while, if the doctor does not come, I will have to see a doctor outside. Rashti Akhtar (24), a relative of Amina Bewa (74), a patient admitted to the hospital, said that the electricity went off 2 hours ago and the patient is shivering in the heat. Fanning the air with a hand fan, it's hot and the stench of the garbage is making it difficult to stay in the hospital. If this is the case, the patients will get sicker.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Aminul Islam said that there are 26 doctor posts in the health complex, there are only 4 vacancies and 22 posts. Due to shortage of doctors, we are struggling to treat patients. He also said that some dirt and garbage has been removed, the rest will be removed and arrangements have been made to repair the generator.
