Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that there is no scope to view the success of the July-August mass uprising as a single achievement of any individual or political party. He said that the strength of this movement came through the collective sacrifice, courage and self-sacrifice of the students and the public.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the 'July National Conference' organized at the China Friendship International Conference Center in the capital on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said that the sacrifices of the martyrs of the July Movement will be given due respect by the state. At the same time, justice for the killings and injustices committed during the movement will be ensured based on the law. However, he also instructed to be careful that no innocent person is harmed in the trial process.
Emphasizing on national unity, Tarique Rahman said that unity, tolerance and responsible politics are now needed to build the country, not division. The main goal of the current government is to come out of the culture of revenge and work for the welfare of the people.
He further said that everyone must be vigilant in building a new Bangladesh by maintaining the spirit of the July Revolution. He urged the people to remain united so that no evil force can hinder this progress.
The conference was attended by the families of the martyrs of the July Movement, injured people and representatives of various classes and professions. This conference was organized as part of commemorating the martyrs of this movement, rehabilitating the injured and advancing the justice process after the fall of the Awami League government in the July-August 2024 student-public movement.
