NCP is being run under the influence of Jamaat: Rashed Khan

BNP leader Rashed Khan has claimed that the National Citizens Party (NCP) is gradually becoming a political organization under the influence of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. He made the comments in a post on his verified Facebook account on Sunday (June 7).
In the post, Rashed Khan said that the NCP is being developed in such a way that it can become another political platform of Jamaat. According to him, the top leaders of the party themselves may not understand how the influence of Jamaat-Shibir is increasing within the organization.
He further alleged that the NCP could not utilize that potential even though it got the opportunity to emerge as a new political force. According to Rashed, there was a need to create a new political alternative in the country, but the party has increased the influence of pro-Jamaat activists instead of following that path.
Rashed Khan claimed that a large part of Jamaat-Shibir was involved in the NCP from the beginning and due to the failure of the leadership, the party could not become an alternative to the political vacuum of the Awami League. However, these comments are Rashed Khan's personal political statements and allegations; there was no immediate response from the NCP on this matter.
