Their bodies were recovered from the land next to a mosque in Sadekpur Uttar Para on Tuesday (August 27) morning.

The deceased are Naima (14) daughter of Billal Mia of Kalisima village and Maimuna (15) daughter of Abdul Barek of Sadekpur village. She was a student of Hefz Department of Mayna Begum Islamia Hafizia Madrasa of Payag village of Sadar Upazila.

The relatives of the deceased said that they went to the madrasa on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, they were informed by phone from the madrasa that they are not in the madrasa. The teacher of the madrasa said that they were punished for doing a little mischief at night, and since then they have not been found. Later, when asked to see the CCTV footage, the teachers hesitated to show it. 4 days after the incident, on Tuesday morning, the locals recovered their bodies from the ground water next to a mosque in Sadekpur North Para.

Sadar Police Station OC Mozaffar Hossain said that the matter is being investigated. However, the teachers locked the madrasa and ran away. Necessary legal action will be taken after post-mortem.
