Three bus owners Barguna Bus Malik Group President Gholam Mostafa Kichlu, General Secretary Alhaj Sagir Hossain, Samsul Haque Gazi and Razzak Chowkidar contributed Tk. Even with that money, the owner group did not give them membership. On the contrary, it has been alleged that they are threatening to destroy their lives for demanding money back.
Bus owner Dipankar Kumar, Ashraf Ali Sikder and Mir Shahidul Islam Dulal made this complaint in a joint press conference at Amtali Journalist Union office on Monday. They also alleged that Barguna Bus and Mini Bus owner group president and general manager of six people are fleeing under threat of death. They demanded action against the six members of the bus owner group to the police administration along with the law and order forces. Apart from this, daily Yugantar newspaper staff reporter and Amtali Journalist Union President Md. Jasim Uddin Sikder and Nizam Uddin Sardar used to run bus business jointly. Soon after the Awami League government was formed in 2009, Nizam Uddin Sardar took control of Nizam Uddin Sardar Bus under the influence of General Secretary of Barguna Bus and Mini Bus Owners Group Md Chagir Hossain. An arbitration meeting was held locally but Nizam Sardar did not accept the decision of that meeting. On the contrary, the general secretary of the Bus Owners Group, Md Chagir Hossain, influenced the journalist Jasim Uddin Sikder to take ownership of the bus himself. For the last 15 years he (Nizam) has been occupying that bus and doing business alone.
Mir Shahidul Islam Dulal said in a written speech at the press conference that I, Dipankar Kumar Nandi and Ashraf Ali Sikder have three buses. We applied in 2016 to include those cars in Barguna Malik Group and get membership. Barguna District Bus and Minibus Owners Group President Golam Mostafa Kichlu, General Secretary Sagir Miah, members Hasan Mridha, Abdur Razzak and Swajal Mridha demanded a contribution of Tk 10 lakh per vehicle to get membership of the association. We give the 30 lakh rupees they demanded to the three. Dipankar Kumar (Vehicle No. Dhaka Metro-B-11-4846) written temporary and Ashraf Ali Sikder (Vehicle No. Dhaka Metro-J-04-0256) and Mir Shahidul Islam (Vehicle No. Patuakhali-J-11) -0021) verbally allowed movement on Amtali-Taltali road. Although the car was running for a few days, six people, including the group president and general secretary, again demanded ten lakh rupees per car. If we refuse to pay this money, they stop our vehicles from plying on the road. As the vehicle stopped moving, the parts of the vehicles became useless and our owner did not even give us group membership. If we want to return the money we gave to Malik Group President, General Secretary and other members, they are threatening to destroy our lives. We are fleeing from the threat of their continued lives. They demanded the police administration along with the law and order forces to take action against them to save lives and get money back. Dipankar Kumar and Ashraf Ali Sikder were also present at the joint press conference.
Barguna Bus and Mini Bus Owners Group General Secretary Md Chagir Hossain denied all the allegations and said that I do not know those who have complained against me. He also said that journalist Jasim Uddin Sikder had complained about his matter to Barguna Superintendent of Police but the matter was not resolved.
Barguna District Bus and Minibus Owners Group President Golam Mostafa Kislu denied taking the money and said that they were not taken as per the decision of the Bus Owners Group.
Barguna Police Superintendent Md. Ibrahim Khalil said, I came to know about the matter through journalists. Legal action will be taken if complaints are received.
