BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon has been in the discussion ever since the change in political status. He was a member of Parliament of Bangladesh Awami League for several times and a very confidant of the recently resigned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Therefore, in the current context, it is impossible for him to perform the duties of the board president.
A director of BCB recently said that Papon is willing to resign from the post of president. He is also discussing with the influential directors of the board in this regard. However, sports advisor Asif Mahmud does not know anything about this officially yet.
Today (Sunday) facing the media at the secretariat, Asif said about Papon's resignation, 'I have seen the resignation of BCB president or directors in the media. I haven't found anything direct about this. We are discussing this with various stakeholders. I have asked former cricketers to reach a solution in this matter.
Currently, former cricketers, coaches and sports organizers are demanding to change the constitution of BCB. In this regard, Asif Mahmud said, 'The matter is under process. Discussions are ongoing. Don't want to comment until we reach a solution. You will know as soon as possible.
