IPL 2025 Auction: Before the auction, the player list is prepared, will Chennai keep Mustafiz?

Indian Premier League (IPL) upcoming mega auction (IPL 2025 Auction) from next November. However, the organizers have not officially announced the final date yet. League authorities have also changed several rules ahead of the auction. The franchises can retain a maximum of 6 players from the previous season's team.

10 franchises can retain a total of 60 cricketers from the previous squad. A maximum of five cricketers can be retained. One person can be taken through the 'right to match' rule. Speculations have been rife after the IPL Governing Council meeting on Saturday over a list of which cricketers the IPL franchises plan to keep.
According to an all-India media report, every franchise authority has made the preliminary list. The list, however, is likely to change.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS—Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mathisha Pathirana, Shivam Dubey, Simranjit Singh are on Chennai's list ahead of the mega auction. The Chennai authorities are also considering the names of two New Zealand cricketers Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway. However, the name of Tiger pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who joined the team in the last season, was not heard.
Delhi Capitals—Delhi may retain Rishabh Pant, Tristan Stubbs, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mitchell Marsh and Jack Facer McGurk.
Gujarat Titans—Gujarat authorities have made their preliminary list. According to sources, the list includes Shubman Gill, Mohammad Shami, Sai Sudarshan, David Miller, Rashid Khan, Josh Little and Azmatullah Omarzai.
Lucknow Super Giants—KL Rahul's relationship with Lucknow owner industrialist Sanjeev Goenka hit rock bottom. However, the two have had several meetings since then. An attempt has been made by Goenka to melt the ice. Rahul's name is first in the list of Lucknow authorities. The names include Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis, Ravi Bishnoi, Quinton de Kock, Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandyar.

Rajasthan Royals—Rajasthan authorities have named seven cricketers in their preliminary list. They are Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Yasswi Jaiswal, Ryan Parag, Trent Boult, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Royal Challengers Bangalore — Virat Kohli's RCB authorities have also made their preliminary list. As expected, this former captain is number one. The list includes Faf du Plessis, Will Jack, Yash Dayal, Mohammad Siraj and Cameron Greene.
SUNRISERS HYDERABAD—The Hyderabad franchise has retained six cricketers in their preliminary list. They are Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Kolkata Knight Riders - Last time champions KKR made the retention list. Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla's franchise list has seven cricketers. Shreyas Iyer, the captain who led the team to its third championship, remains. The franchise's two veteran cricketers Sunil Narine and Andre Russell are also named. Apart from this, Rinku Singh, Varun Chakraborty, Harshit Rana and Phil Salt got places in the list of KKR authorities.
