The High Court has fixed Thursday (August 22) for the hearing of the writ petition filed seeking the ban and cancellation of registration of Awami League for indiscriminate killing of students.
On Tuesday (August 20), Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Md. Mahbubul ul Islam's High Court bench fixed this day for hearing.
Petitioner Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan himself heard the writ on behalf of the court.
Earlier, executive director Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan filed the writ on behalf of human rights organization Sarda Society. Besides, in the writ, the names of the institutions which are in the name of Sheikh Hasina have also been sought.
The writ seeks a minimum term of 3 years for the current interim government to reform the country. Along with this, it has been requested to bring back 11 lakh crores smuggled abroad and to transfer the officials who were appointed on contractual basis during the previous Awami League government.
