Apart from this, the meeting also decided to release all the prisoners detained in the anti-discrimination student movement and recently in various cases.
Khaleda Zia was jailed in two corruption cases. He was imprisoned for more than two years. On March 25, 2020, the government suspended his sentence and granted conditional release in an executive order. After that, the government extended the period of his release by suspending his sentence in view of his appeals for six months.
