Former Minister Tajul, MP Ahmed and Rear Admiral Sohail detained

Former Minister of State for Liberation War Captain (Retd) AB Tajul Islam, Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail who was sent on compulsory retirement from the Navy and former Member of Parliament Ahmad Hossain have been arrested by the Intelligence Department (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). They were arrested on Tuesday night.
According to DB sources, Tajul was arrested from Banshri area of the capital, Ahmad Hossain from Gulshan and Sohail from Banani area. They have been taken to the DB office.
According to sources, the former chairman of Chittagong port, sacked Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail, has been arrested in a case filed at Paltan police station. It is not initially known in which case the other two will be arrested.
Captain (Retd.) AB Tajul Islam was the Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-6 Constituency for four consecutive terms. In 2009, he served as the Minister of State for Liberation War. He also held the post of Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Awami League.
On August 19, Rear Admiral Sohail was sent on compulsory retirement from the Navy. Sohail also served as the Chairman of Chittagong Port.
Ahmed Hossain was the organizing secretary of Awami League. He was elected from Netrakona-5 seat in the 12th National Assembly elections
