Asif Mahmud, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Interim Government and one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement commented that the time has come for the downfall of laziness student politics.

He said this in a Facebook status on Monday (August 12).
Asif Mahmud wrote in his Facebook status, "Students are not politics, political awareness is needed." I have fought for a long time against the creation of cadre-based forces, torture and laziness of student politics. The fight against the fascist Hasina has been possible only when there is political awareness among the students. Bangladesh will not lose its way if there is political awareness among students.
Asif wrote that the student leadership will be elected through the student council elections. The time has come for the downfall of the politics of muscle power, the politics of oppression, and the lame student politics.
Incidentally, Nobel Peace Prize winning professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. At the same time, 13 other advisers took oath. One of them is Asif Mahmud.
