Bangladesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun's contract was canceled as the new IGP and Additional Inspector General of Police Md. Moinul Islam has been appointed.
On Monday (August 6) night, a notification in this regard was issued by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Mahabur Rahman Sheikh. It is said that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.
Earlier, Chowdhury Abdullah Mamun was removed from the post of Inspector General (IGP) of Bangladesh Police.
He was removed from the post of IGP in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (August 6) night. Sculptor Debnath Bappi signed the proclamation on behalf of the President.
It is said in the notification that according to clause-7 of the contract executed with Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, his contractual appointment from the post of Inspector General of Police is hereby cancelled.
The notification also said that this order was issued in public interest.
