Among those killed in the anti-discrimination movement, 5 people have been buried in Jhalkathi district so far. Among them, 3 are professionals and the remaining 2 are students. 2 people were buried in Jhalkathi Sadar, 2 people in Nalchiti and 1 person in Rajapur Upazila. Kamal Hossain Sabuj (40) of Binaykathi area of ​​Sadar Upazila used to drive in Dhaka. He was shot and killed in the morning of 19 July in Jatrabari area. Hridoy Howladar (23) is a garment worker of Shekerhat area. He was shot and killed on the night of July 19. Salim Talukdar (28) of Mallikpur area of ​​Nalchiti Upazila is a garment official. He died on the night of July 31 when he was shot in Badda on July 18. Naim Howladar (17) of the same upazila is an HSC candidate. He was shot and killed in Jatrabari area on July 19. Monir Hesen (18) of Balaibari area of ​​Rajapur Upazila is an HSC candidate. On July 19, he was killed in Banshtala, Shahjadpur, Dhaka.

Speaking to the relatives of garment official Salim, it is said that on July 18, Salim left his house in Comilla Para on Badda-Link Road in the morning to go to his office in Narayanganj. When he went to the front of BRAC University, Kota got caught up in the conflict of the quota reform movement. Salim was shot at around 11:30 pm. He was shot in the head, chest and back. Someone took him to Mugda Hospital first. From there, an unknown person called his mother's mobile number on Selim's mobile around 12:30 pm. The relatives rushed to the hospital after receiving the news on the phone.
Seeing the poor condition of the patient, the relatives visited different hospitals but did not find the ICU empty. At the same time, the relatives complained that the hospital authorities refused to admit the patient for fear of administrative harassment.
The next day, the relatives admitted Salim to the ICU of Dhanmondi Popular Hospital. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment there on the night of July 31, and the doctor issued his death certificate on the morning of August 1.
Relatives said in a tearful voice that Salim got married about a year ago. He completed his graduation from BGME University of Fashion and Technology two and a half years ago. Later, he started working as an assistant merchandiser in a private company in Narayanganj. They are three sisters, one brother. Salim was the mezzo.
When asked whether to file a case, Selim's younger sister Soma said, "We do not want to go through any legal process in this incident." We have lost what we have to lose. If it is published in the newspaper or if we file a case, we will not get our brother back. So I don't want to get into trouble.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Nalchiti police station. Murad Ali said, I learned that Salim and a person named Naim died while being treated in a hospital in Dhaka due to gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, Kamal Hossain alias Sabuj was the driver of private television channel Eye. Kamal was shot and killed on the spot during the violence surrounding the movement in Badda's Shahjadpur area of ​​Dhaka on Saturday morning, July 19. On hearing the news, wife Sadia Begum's brother Ripon Howladar brought the dead body from Dhaka.
He said that on Saturday morning, Kamal Hossain went out to have breakfast from his rented house in Shahjadpur area of ​​Badda. Then Kamal suddenly fell into violence around the quota movement and died on the spot after being shot in the head.
