The students and public in Shahbagh have burst into joy after all the activities of the genocidal fascist Awami League were banned. The crowd was in a frenzy from Hotel Intercontinental to the entire Shahbagh intersection and Bangla Motor.

On Saturday (May 10), after the interim government's legal advisor Asif Nazrul announced the ban on Awami League activities in a press conference, the students and public have burst into joy. At that time, they took processions from Hotel Intercontinental to Shahbagh intersection in stages and joined a rally there.

At the rally, the students and public demanded that they would not leave the streets until their previously announced demands were met. Their demands included a permanent ban on the Awami League as a party, constitutional recognition of the July Revolution, and a trial for all the misdeeds of the Awami League, especially the July massacre and the Shapla massacre.

Since Friday afternoon, students and the public have been protesting at Shahbagh intersection block with three demands, including the ban on the fascist party Awami League. They expressed their firm determination to present their demands to the government through the protest and to get their just rights from the government.
