Dhaka, February 10: At a press conference organized at the Foreign Service Academy, the Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that when the next national parliament elections will be held will depend on the demands of the political parties. He said that the Chief Advisor has already announced two possible dates - one in December this year and the other in June next year. However, the election date will be finalized according to the demands of the political parties.

At a press conference organized at the Foreign Service Academy on Monday night, he said, "The Chief Advisor said that the election date will be determined based on the expectations of the political parties. If the parties agree that the elections should be held in December, then it will be taken into consideration."

Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi were present at the time. The Press Secretary also said that BNP has made their demands and said that they want early elections and prefer the December date for the elections.

He also said, "The National Consensus Commission is working on this issue and a meeting will be held with political parties on February 15."
The Press Secretary mentioned the communication with the Bangla Academy regarding the Sabyasachi stall incident at the book fair and said that the government has given importance to this issue.

In addition, he informed about the discussions on the withdrawal of the 'harassment' case filed against BNP leaders and activists. The Press Secretary said that the Chief Advisor should be vigilant to ensure that human rights are not violated.

He also said that the current situation in the country is normal and the BNP has emphasized on stability.
