There is no chance of fascism returning to the country, said Mahfuz Alam, one of the organizers of the July Revolution and advisor to the interim government. He also said that if the Awami League comes to power again, fascism will return.
Mahfuz Alam said these things at a road meeting in Hajiganj, Chandpur on Saturday. He claimed that the Awami League will not be able to participate in the upcoming national elections because the fascist system has been overthrown along with BNP-Jamaat and other representatives.
Mahfuz Alam said that elections are not possible until the institutions that Sheikh Hasina used to establish fascism are reformed. Without reform, people will never be free from discrimination and oppression. Therefore, elections will be held after the report of the Reform Commission and political discussions, and this country will be in the hands of pro-Bangladesh people. He also said that pro-Delhi people will no longer have a place in Bangladesh.
Today, there are plans to give a civic reception to Mahfuz Alam at a function held at Ramganj Government College grounds in Lakshmipur.
