EB's new vice chancellor. Nakeeb M Nasrullah

The Dean of Law Department of Dhaka University (DU) has been appointed as the 14th Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University (EB). Nakeeb Mohammad Nasrullah. He has been given this responsibility for the next 4 years. 45 days after the post of Vice-Chancellor became vacant, the University appointed a new Vice-Chancellor.
On Monday (September 23), this information was confirmed in a notification signed by Shahinur Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Public General University Branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education by order of the President.
According to the notification, with the approval of the President and the Chancellor, according to Section 10(1) of the Islamic University Act-1980, Dhaka University Law Department Professor Dr. Naqeeb Mohammad Nasrullah has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Islami University.
The notification also said that his appointment will be effective from the date of joining. He will serve for four years. The appropriate post will be entitled to pay and allowances equivalent to the previous post. He will enjoy other benefits related to the post as per rules. The Vice-Chancellor as the Chief Executive Officer of the University shall be permanently stationed in the University campus. The President and the Chancellor can revoke his appointment at any time if necessary.
Professor Dr. Nakeeb M. Nasrullah completed his MLB in 1989 and LLM in 1990 from Dhaka University (DU) Law Department. He completed his PhD in International Investment Law from Macquarie University, Australia and MPhil in Law and Diploma in Foundations in Learning and Teaching from the same university. Also MLM in International Law from University of New South Wales, Diploma in International Humanitarian Law from Nalsar University of Law, India.
Besides, his career reflects a rich mix of academic practice development management experience acquired at home and abroad. He has academic experience on various law-related topics including international trade and investment law, human rights and development issues, international criminal law and justice, humanitarian assistance and protection of war victims, refugees, migrants and minorities and national business law, Islamic law and social studies.
He has contributed more than 35 research articles and book chapters in national and international law journals and books.
Incidentally, the Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer of the Islamic University resigned citing personal reasons on August 8. Since then 3 posts were vacant. After the appointment of the new vice-chancellor, the posts of vice-chancellor and treasurer are still vacant.
