Kazipara and Mirpur-10 metro stations affected by the attack of miscreants in the quota reform movement. Sheikh Hasina, the ruling Awami League government at that time, visited these two stations on July 19. After the inspection, it was informed that it will take at least a year to renovate the two damaged stations. It was reported that 350 crore rupees could be spent on it.

However, after the fall of Sheikh Hasina in the July and August movement, Dr. took charge of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus. After that, a committee was formed to assess the damage to the two stations. The committee members have already submitted a report to the government assessing the damage.

According to reports, the attack has damaged everything from ticket-cutting vending machines to used computers, office rooms, glass doors and windows, mass rapid transit cards, ticket punching doors, closed circuit cameras (CCTV) etc. in the attack.

The newly appointed Managing Director (MP) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Mohammad Abdur Rauf said that between the two stations, the Kazipara station suffered less damage. As a result, it has been decided to complete the renovation work and start it quickly. However, it will take several months to open the Mirpur-10 metro station.

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said during the power of Sheikh Hasina's government that it would cost about Tk 100 crore to repair the infrastructural damage caused by the attack on July 19 at Kazipara Metrorail station. Not even crores are being spent.

Regarding the cost, Mohammad Abdur Rauf said, based on our initial calculations, it seems that the renovation work of the two damaged stations will not require more than 138 crore rupees.

Meanwhile, the managing director of DMTCL said that the repair work of Kazipara station is almost at the end. If no major defects are found at the end of the tests, then the Kazipara station of metro rail may be opened for the use of passengers from this month, the authorities said.

Incidentally, MAN Siddique was appointed MD of DMTCL in 2017 during the Awami League regime. After the interim government assumed power, Rauf canceled his contractual appointment on September 9 and took charge of that place.
