Another murder case against 308 people including Sheikh Hasina in Savar

Another case has been filed against 308 people including former prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina in connection with the shooting death of a youth named Hriday Ahmed in Savar during the anti-discrimination student movement. Seven cases were filed in Savar Model Police Station with Sheikh Hasina as the main accused.
Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Atiqur Rahman confirmed the case on Friday afternoon. Earlier this morning Raju Ahmed, a resident of Chhatardighi village of Singra police station of Natore district, filed the case at Savar Model Police Station, father of the deceased Hriday Ahmed.
Apart from Sheikh Hasina, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Information and Communication Technology (ICT) State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, former Disaster Management and Relief State Minister Dr. Enamur Rahman, former chairman of Savar Upazila Parishad Manjurul Alam Rajeev, former mayor of Savar Municipality Abdul Gani. Besides, the names of local Awami League leaders and several people from Natore have been mentioned.
It is mentioned in the statement of the case that the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned in the afternoon of August 5 and fled to India in the student uprising. Earlier, 35 people were killed in indiscriminate firing by the police in Savar to prevent the 'Long March to Dhaka' program. Hriday Ahmed (22) was shot in the chest and stomach when the police fired indiscriminately at the Mukti intersection of Savar Thana Road around 4 pm when the angry student crowd protested. Later, he was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and died of heart failure on August 8 while under treatment.
