The trend of eating pumpkin seeds as a dry food for breakfast has become popular. Nutritionists say that it is very beneficial for adults to eat 15 to 20 pumpkin seeds every morning on an empty stomach. These small seeds contain numerous nutrients, which act as a 'powerhouse' for the body. About 560 calories are available in every 100 grams of pumpkin seeds. In addition, they are rich in antioxidants, magnesium, zinc, calcium, phosphorus, copper, vitamin E, iron and fiber.
Nutritionist Sharifa Akhter Shammi of Mirpur Islami Bank Hospital says, "A healthy person should eat 15 to 20 pumpkin seeds every day. This keeps the body rich in nutrients and increases performance throughout the day."
