Relief in vegetable markets, broiler at 150 taka per kg

Dhaka, the capital, has become largely deserted during the holy Eid-ul-Azha holiday. As a large part of the city dwellers have gone to their villages to celebrate Eid with their families, its impact has also been seen in the markets. As many people, from vegetable sellers to daily necessities traders, have left Dhaka, more than half of the shops in various markets in the capital are closed.
A visit to the markets showed that the number of buyers as well as sellers is much less than usual. As a result, the prices of most vegetables and meat have decreased slightly due to the decrease in demand in the market. This has brought relief to the buyers.
Traders said that due to the low presence of people in the capital during Eid, sales also decrease. Therefore, many shops have been temporarily closed. On the other hand, due to the limited number of buyers, there is no pressure on the price of products to increase.
Those concerned believe that the market will return to normal once the Eid holiday is over and people start returning to work. However, for now, buyers are able to buy vegetables and meat at comparatively lower prices in the capital's markets.
