Brazilian star Vinicius Junior has decided to stay with Real Madrid, ending long-standing rumors.

Negotiations for his new long-term contract with the Spanish club have progressed positively and the contract renewal is now in its final stages.

According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, verbal agreements between Real Madrid authorities and Vinicius' representatives on a new contract have almost been completed.

Contract may be extended until 2031

Vinicius' current contract expires in June 2027. Real Madrid wants to extend this contract for another four years until 2031.

It is reported that Vinicius' annual income, including salary and performance bonuses, could be around 30 million euros in the new contract.

An official announcement of the contract renewal will come only after some minor issues between the two parties are resolved.

Arsenal interested, but Vinicius wants to stay in Madrid

English club Arsenal were interested in signing Vinicius. However, various sources have said that the Brazilian forward wants to see his future at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has also personally encouraged Vinicius to stay at the club, the report states.
