Video of slapping party worker goes viral, Mamata in controversy

Former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has been accused of slapping a Trinamool worker amid the chaos that erupted after a party program in Kolkata. A video of the incident went viral on social media, triggering a discussion in the political arena.
The incident took place in front of Mamata's residence in Kalighat in south Kolkata on Wednesday (July 8). Trinamool student and youth organization workers took out a procession from Ballygunge outpost to Hazra More with the permission of the Calcutta High Court to protest the allegations of rape and murder of a child in Baruipur.
During the procession, BJP and Trinamool supporters exchanged slogans, pushed and clashed in Hazra area. Several workers were injured and injured. Later, some of them gathered in front of Mamata Banerjee's residence.
Mamata herself came out of her house to send the injured to the hospital and clear the way for vehicles to move. In the video circulating on social media, she can be seen hitting a man wearing an orange T-shirt standing in the crowd on the cheek. Indian media reported that the man was a Trinamool worker. Several others were seen pushing him away with their hands.
It is not known for sure why Mamata was angry with the worker. However, it is believed that she lost her temper when the crowd was not controlled while sending the injured to the hospital.
Mamata also expressed her anger at the role of the police administration after the incident. She alleged that the procession was held with the permission of the court, but the workers of the opposition party created obstacles there. He also alleged that the police did not play a proper role in handling the situation.
On the other hand, the BJP has denied the allegations of the Trinamool. The party leaders claim that the Trinamool workers created tension around the procession. They have also criticized Mamata, accusing her of publicly assaulting a party worker.
After the video went viral, a new controversy has arisen in West Bengal politics regarding the incident.
