Dhaka's streets were in turmoil on Wednesday, as members of small ethnic groups protested demanding the reinstatement of the word 'tribal'. The event was held under the banner of 'Agitated Tribal Students-Public' in front of the NCTB, where they demanded the reinstatement of the word 'tribal' in the textbooks. At the same time, members of an organization called 'Students for Sovereignty' appeared there, who were present with five demands, including the inclusion of the word 'tribal' in the textbooks and the punishment of those involved in the addition of graffiti against the July Mass Uprising. A heated argument broke out between the two sides, as a result of which several members of the 'Agitated Tribal Students-Public' were seriously injured.

After the incident, widespread criticism began on social media. Many people protested, among them was the famous actress of both Bengals, Jaya Ahsan. In a post on Facebook, he wrote, "The way the streets of Dhaka were stained with the blood of tribal citizens is tragic. This blood came out of the wounded soul of the anti-discrimination movement. Because tribals also participated in the student-public movement against discrimination. On the one hand, we want to eliminate the discrimination in the constitution, and on the other hand, we are attacking tribals in the name of the constitution. Is our faith right? May all kinds of discrimination be eliminated from this country."
