Noikhali University of Science and Technology (Nobiprobi) students have locked the offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer and Registrar for not resigning within the 48-hour period set by the anti-discrimination student movement. Apart from this, they protested by protesting across the campus and setting fire in front of the Vice-Chancellor's residence. These incidents took place on Friday (August 9) from 9 pm to 11 pm.
It is known that on August 7, politics is prohibited in Nobiprobi, VC, Provost, Treasurer, Registrar, Proctor, Director of Student Counseling Department, Director of IQAC, Additional Director, Hall Provosts have publicly apologized and demanded resignation within 48 hours. .
In the meantime, the proctor of Nobiprobi has submitted his resignation for personal reasons. Apart from this, all politics, including students and teachers, have been declared closed in an emergency meeting of the University's Board of Regents on Friday. However, as the vice-chancellor, vice-chancellor, treasurer and registrar did not resign, the general students protested. At that time, the angry students removed their names from the name board in front of the Vice-Chancellor's room. At that time, ordinary students protested by setting fire to the university roundabout, VC residence, main gate and shouting various slogans. Apart from this, in protest they locked the main gate of the Vice-Chancellor's, Vice-Chancellor's, Treasurer's and Registrar's rooms and also removed the names of the Vice-Chancellors from their nameplates.
Bani Yamin, coordinator of Nobiprobi, told Dhaka Post, "You know, this murderous administration is shameless." Even after their student society gave them 48 hours, they did not resign shamelessly. We students will take care of them. We want to say that if the VC and others do not resign by 4 pm on Saturday, we will declare them undesirable and expelled.
Arifur Rahman, another coordinator of Nobiprobi, told Dhaka Post that the VC and others who were against the movement took this arbitrary decision like online classes to protect themselves. We therefore reject this decision. We will prevent all the injustices and injustices of the university with the common students and none of you will be a victim of anyone's incitement. If victimized then your ordinary students will boycott.
