As part of the fourth phase of the program in various areas of Kumarkhali, Kushtia, Hafez Moinuddin Sheikh, executive member of the Central Krishak Dal, conducted a massive road meeting and mass contact on Saturday afternoon. He spoke directly to the local people and promised to listen to their various problems and solve them.
In the mass contact program that started from Tarunmore in the upazila, he inaugurated the 31-point leaflet distribution program announced by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Then he distributed leaflets and held road meetings at various important places including Kumarkhali Bus Stand, Alauddin Nagar, Belgachi Bazar, Shilaidah and Kalyanpur.
In an interaction with the participants in the mass contact, Moinuddin said that he has taken the initiative to reach out to the people of remote areas directly so that they are not left out of politics. He said, “Our goal is the all-round development of the people. Special importance will be given to the development of the weaving industry and the agricultural sector so that the economic condition of the people here can change. If we get the opportunity to represent the people in the Kumarkhali-Khoksa area, a new horizon will be opened in the field of education by establishing Shaheed Abrar Fahad Science and Technology University.”
He also said, “Through the BNP’s 31-point leaflet, we are trying to raise awareness among the people about the ongoing political situation in the country and the importance of the upcoming elections. We want a transparent, impartial and participatory election. Therefore, we urge every voter to vote with the symbol of the sheaf of rice.”
Regarding the issue, Moinuddin said, “Various political groups are involved in conspiracies regarding the election date announced by the current interim government, but they know that the people of the country have no weak trust in BNP. No one can stop us in conspiracies. Our promise is to work dedicatedly for the welfare of the country and the people.”
At this time, he called on all the people of the nation to come together and forget their differences and unite. He said, "For the development of the country and the stability of the state, politics must be done in unity. We must not do politics of division, but politics of prosperity. We believe that if we are together, we can achieve our goals."
After the mass communication, local leaders and activists said that this step of Moinuddin will increase the morale and political awareness of the people of remote areas and will be helpful in playing an active role in the next elections.
