The Gaza Health Ministry said 11 more people have died of starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip. With this, the number of such deaths in the besieged strip has increased to 212, of which 98 are children.
According to the ministry, at least 38 people have been killed and 491 injured in Israeli military operations in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Israel has announced plans to take full control of Gaza City. According to the plan, the city will be evacuated by October 7 and an estimated one million residents will be evacuated to the southern region. Although Gaza City was home to about 600,000 people before the war, a large number of displaced people have now taken refuge there due to the ongoing conflict.
Israel's new plan, published last Friday, states that five principles will be followed to end the war in Gaza, one of which is to take control of the security of the area. But the plan has drawn widespread criticism from international circles and within Israel. The prisoners' families and some military officials have opposed the move.
The United Nations and human rights groups have warned that the plan will have a devastating impact on an already desperate population. UN food security experts have said Gaza is now facing the "worst possible famine".
The Gaza Health Ministry said 21 people had died in the past 24 hours while trying to collect food aid. The UN says 373 Palestinians have been killed while collecting food since the end of May. Of these, 859 were killed near the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid center and 514 were killed en route to food convoys.
