A class of unscrupulous traders have become active in the importation of falsely declared products including drugs by establishing friendship with the importers of various types of raw materials including fish, vegetables through Benapole land port. On the one hand, as the government's revenue of billions of rupees is wasted, drugs are also spreading inside the country.

Meanwhile, it is also alleged that the weight scale of raw materials at the port is allowing large sums of money per truck and allowing irregularities. However, even if this situation continues for a long time, there is no headache for the port and customs. Conscious businessmen have expressed their anger.

Importer Soharb Hossain said that since the mobile scanning machine installed at Benapole port to prevent smuggling has been closed for a long time, the smuggling of various raw materials including meat and vegetables has increased along with imported goods by making false declarations. Ordinary traders are facing harassment and loss.

Mujibar, a fruit importer, said that a syndicate of traders has been formed in the raw material field of the port number 31 and these criminal activities are being conducted under their leadership. In cooperation with them, smugglers are bringing smuggled goods into the country in trucks. Ordinary traders are being harassed. If there are CCTV cameras in the port, these crimes are not being caught for mysterious reasons. Besides, if you don't pay a bribe to every office of the port in the field of raw materials, the paper is not signed. I want the withdrawal of these corrupt people of port or customs.

According to the port information, recently a fish truck belonging to the importer M/s Lucky Enterprises was trying to clear the raw material yard from Shanta of Sonali C&F Agency Ltd. At that time, Customs recovered the shipment of sarees and three pieces from that truck. Besides, Benapole Customs seized a large quantity of sarees, thrips, lead (narcotics) and medicines imported from India by evading duty in cartons of imported vegetables (capsicum). Besides, the police seized BGB Phencidid from Bhushi's truck truck and Phencidil, Gaza from another truck in the raw material field at the port.

Recently, Assistant Director of NSI working in Benapole, Farhad Hossain informed the mediapersons about their efforts to seize the consignment of falsely declared goods, they received secret information that sarees, thrips and drugs were being smuggled in an Indian truck named vegetable food Capsicum at Benapole port. Later NSI personnel with the cooperation of customs entered the port and searched the truck. At this time, it is seen that capsicum cartons contain high-quality sarees, thrips and narcotic lead instead of capsicum. Benapole's C&F agent Swadesh International was helping to clear the cargo from the port. The importer of the product is Siam Enterprises of Jessore. He expressed the opinion that their campaign will continue in the case of proper revenue collection of the government.

Recently Jessore 49 BGB battalion captain Lt. Colonel Ahmed Hasan Jamil told the media about the seizure of a drug shipment, based on intelligence information of the RIB, he learned that a huge shipment of drugs would enter Bangladesh in a truck full of glass powder imported from India. Based on such news, the BGB members of Benapole ICP camp identified the Indian vehicle from a secret position earlier around 10 pm. Later, in the joint search of BGB and Customs, 99 bottles of Phencidil were recovered from the Indian truck in the raw material field. At that time, the driver of the truck, Rafiqul Mondal, was arrested. After interrogation, he was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.

Recently, Deputy Commissioner of Customs Othello Chowdhury said that quick steps have been taken to launch scanning machines to prevent smuggling. Moreover, if there is any information about illegal products, please cooperate with the customs.
