Highway blockade by pharmaceuticals workers in Sreepur

The workers of Zenfer Pharmaceuticals Bangladesh Limited factory in Sreepur, Gazipur have staged a strike, protest and blocked the highway to demand 13 points, including the resignation of the Assistant General Manager (AGM) of the Human Resource Department. The members of RAB-01 Gazipur Porabari camp have arrested the accused Iqbal Hossain (38) who was sentenced to life in the case of absconding murder from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur. He is the son of doctor Hasen Ali of Barmi village of Barmi union of Sripur upazila. He was arrested from Rajendrapur area of Sripur upazila at 6:30 pm on Tuesday (September 17). RAB Porabari Camp Assistant Superintendent of Police (Media) Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the matter at 10 pm.

4 injured including two women in cocktail explosion in Sreepur

Four people, including two women, were injured in an attack by opponents over a land dispute in Gazipur's Sreepur. Meanwhile, the attackers detonated hand grenades and created panic in the area by practicing indigenous weapons. Both parties have filed a case in Gazipur court regarding the disputed land. The incident took place in Nagarhaola (Tarmujpara) village of Gazipur Union of Sripur Upazila on Thursday (September 19) morning.
