Gamini De Silva's name is on the list of many for the recent plight of Bangladesh cricket. This Lankan pitch curator has been in charge of Mirpur's Sher-e Bangla Cricket Stadium for a long time. He has made spin-supporting wickets for a long time at the home of cricket. After such a wicket at home, Bangladesh has to lose often outside the country. Because of which he has to endure a lot of criticism.

Gamini de Silva left Dhaka this month (August 11). At that time he went to his native Sri Lanka on leave. However, this pitch curator of Mirpur Sher-e Bangla Stadium has returned to his workplace Dhaka after the vacation. He was seen in Mirpur on Tuesday. He is seen spending busy time with the field workers at the academy grounds.

Originally, Gamini was supposed to go on vacation on 20th of this month. However, he left Dhaka before the scheduled time. However, Nurul Hasan Sohan-Mustafizur Rahman practiced on this day in Mirpur. Gamini is also seen exchanging skills with them.

The time of change is going on in Bangladesh cricket. The previous president Nazmul Hasan Papon has resigned. Two directors like Jalal Yunus and Sajjadul Alam Bobby are not in charge. Many are in hiding. The new board president Farak Ahmed, however, has not brought any structural changes so far. Although there are many rumors about Gamini, this Lankan pitch curator will be busy in Bangladesh for now.

Even Farooq Ahmed himself informed Gamini about the layoff. However, no final decision has been made yet. In 2009, Gamini was appointed as Curator of Bangladesh. Initially appointed on a two-year contract, the curator has been with Bangladesh Cricket for more than an era after extending the term several times. His current contract with BCB is till 2025.
