15 leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal join Jamaat in Nangalkot

The joining of 15 leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has sparked new discussions in the political arena in Nangalkot, Comilla. They officially joined Jamaat at a road meeting organized by the scales in Hesiara ward no. 2 of Bangadda union of the upazila on Saturday (January 31) night. At that time, Jamaat-nominated candidate for Comilla-10 (Nangalkot-Lalmai) constituency Maulana Yasin Arafat welcomed the newcomers to the party by garlanding them with flowers.
According to local sources, the joining was held under the leadership of BNP leader Abu Bakar of Nurpur village in Ward no. 2 of Bangadda union and BNP leader Asmat Ullah of Beri village. Among those who joined were Manik Mia, a youth activist from Nurpur village, Mehedi Hasan, a youth activist from Hesiara village, Khokon Mia, Jahangir Alam, Mohsin Ahmed, Rezaul Karim, Hasan Ahmed, and a total of 15 leaders and activists.
Jamaat nominated candidate Maulana Yasin Arafat, prominent banker Dr. Delwar Hossain, Nangalkot Upazila Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Yusuf Ali, labor transport leader Nazrul Islam Selim, Dr. Saiful Islam, former student leaders Mainul Islam, Rafiqul Islam, and Aftab Ahmed addressed the road meeting. The speakers highlighted the ideology, discipline, and patriotic politics of Jamaat and urged everyone to work unitedly.
Ward No. 1 President Dr. Maqsud, Secretary Former Sergeant Ohidul Islam, Ward No. 2 President Abu Bakr, Secretary Maulana Bashir Ahmed, Vice-Presidents Zahirul Islam and Qorban Ali, Ward No. 3 President Main Uddin, Vice-President Fakhrul Islam, General Secretary of Bangadda Union Cultural Department Ershad Ullah Sohel, Journalist Shahid Ullah and local leaders.
Expressing his feelings about joining, Chhatra Dal leader Mehedi Hasan said, "I have been associated with the politics of Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal for a long time. However, the disciplined and ideological politics of Jamaat-e-Islami inspired me. Alhamdulillah, I joined Jamaat out of that belief."
In this regard, Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate Maulana Yasin Arafat said, "Jamaat-e-Islami is a patriotic and ideological organization. We want to work for the welfare of the people by taking all conscious and patriotic people with us." Locals believe that this joining has added a new dimension to the political arena of Nangalkot.
