War is over, US will not attack Iran again: Marco Rubio

Published: 02:38 4 June 2026
It was reported from Washington that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that the long-running US military campaign inside Iran has ended. He told a US Congressional hearing on Wednesday (June 3) that 'Operation Epic Fury' has achieved its intended goal amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and that no further series of attacks against Iran are being carried out.
Rubio claimed that a large part of Iran's defense infrastructure has been destroyed through this campaign. At the same time, he told lawmakers that it has been possible to create significant weaknesses in the country's missile and drone capabilities. According to him, despite the limited violence of recent times, the situation is now at the stage of a fragile ceasefire.
Meanwhile, concerns about the security situation have increased due to the recent drone attack on Kuwait International Airport and renewed tensions in the Gulf region. Local sources said that one person was killed and several others were injured in the attack. After this incident, the security of the air and waterways in the Middle East has become more complicated.
US House Speaker Mike Johnson said Washington was working with international allies to ensure commercial shipping flows through the Strait of Hormuz were normal. Rubio said diplomatic talks with Tehran were still ongoing and any future deal would be tougher than before.
