Dhaka has called for the arrest and repatriation of the criminals involved in the armed attack on Inquilab Manch convener and potential independent MP candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency, if they flee to India. The Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, Pranay Verma, has been formally informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard.

The Indian High Commissioner was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (December 14) morning. During the meeting, it was clearly stated by the Bangladesh side that if anyone involved in the attack on Hadi has crossed the border and entered India, he should be immediately arrested and sent back to Bangladesh through legal process.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the meeting raised allegations that ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being given an opportunity to incite terrorist activities in Bangladesh by staying in India. Dhaka also expressed deep concern about the role of the people from across the border in the attempt to sabotage the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.

Bangladesh said that such activities during the interim government are threatening the law and order situation and the democratic process in the country. It has been urged on the Indian government to consider the issues with utmost seriousness.

It is worth noting that the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka was summoned at least five times after the interim government took office.

Meanwhile, it is reported that there has been no significant improvement in the physical condition of Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inquilab Mancha, who was seriously injured in the gunshot wound. He is still undergoing treatment at the capital's Evercare Hospital under intensive observation.

The attack on Osman Hadi took place in the capital's Bijoynagar area after Friday prayers on Friday afternoon (December 12). According to CCTV footage circulating on social media, police and eyewitnesses, gunshots were heard at approximately 2:20 pm. Within seconds, two young men on motorcycles quickly left the scene.

Police said that the miscreants arrived at the scene on three motorcycles. One of them opened fire on Osman Hadi, who was in a rickshaw, from a motorcycle. Law enforcement officials said that a drive has been underway to identify and arrest the attackers since the incident.

The attack has sparked a strong reaction in the country's political arena. The government and various political and social organizations have demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and a full investigation into the incident.
