Mohammad Tamiz Uddin, President of the Dhaka District (North) unit of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), has gained recognition among local residents not only for his active role in political movements and street protests but also for his social and humanitarian endeavors. As he emerges as a potential candidate for the position of Vice-Chairman in the upcoming Savar Upazila Parishad election, his public welfare initiatives have been met with a positive response from the local community. Many hope that if given the opportunity to serve as an elected representative, he will be able to serve the people of Savar on a much larger scale.
To address a long-standing need of the local community, Tamiz Uddin recently facilitated the renovation of a road leading to a graveyard in Ward 2 of Dhamsona Union, Ashulia. Residents have welcomed this initiative, as it alleviates the significant difficulties they previously faced in accessing the area.
Furthermore, he has been actively involved in developing local infrastructure—such as leveling and preparing playgrounds for the youth, and supporting the development of religious institutions, including mosques and madrasas. By prioritizing the needs of the local population, he has demonstrated a consistent commitment to social engagement.
His contributions toward maintaining religious harmony have also been noted locally. He has provided financial support for various festivals celebrated by the Hindu community and has assisted in ensuring the security of temples. His supporters view his willingness to stand by people—regardless of their religion or background—as a positive example of social harmony and peaceful coexistence.
Beyond his long-standing involvement in political movements, Tamiz Uddin has consistently sought to extend a helping hand to ordinary citizens whenever they face challenges or have urgent needs. These actions reflect his genuine interest in public service, alongside his political pursuits.
Local residents hope that if Tamiz Uddin is elected as Vice-Chairman in the upcoming Savar Upazila Parishad election, his service-oriented work will expand further. His supporters believe that, in such a role, he would be even more effective in addressing issues at the union level, catering to the needs of the broader Upazila population, fostering infrastructure development, supporting religious and social institutions, and providing essential aid to the vulnerable. In their view, his experience of standing by people at the local level could pave the way for him to engage in public service on a broader scale. However, for this expectation to be realized, it will be essential for him to demonstrate a sense of responsibility as a public representative, maintain strong ties with the community, and play a consistent role in addressing the problems faced by the local people.
Those who wish him well believe that earning the public's trust—not only through his political identity but also through his social and humanitarian endeavors—has now become the most significant chapter of his life.
