The Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the National Committee on Security

The Prime Minister is going to hold a meeting with the National Committee on Security in Ganobhaban amid the anti-discrimination movement situation. Before this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet with the leaders of two other organizations.

The Prime Minister will hold a meeting with two organizations and cultural workers including the security committee at Ganabhaban on Saturday (03 August). A total of four meetings will be held at Ganobhaban on Saturday and Sunday.
According to Awami League and related sources, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the central leaders of the Professional Coordination Council at Ganobhaban at 11 am on Saturday. He will meet the leaders of the labor organization at 4 pm. Next day, Sunday (August 4) at 11 am, the Prime Minister will participate in the meeting of the National Committee on Security. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will sit with cultural activists at 4 pm on this day.

The National Committee on Security (NCSA) is the highest policy-making authority on national security of the Government of Bangladesh. There are 27 members in the committee.

Meanwhile, Awami League has expressed its interest to hold talks with the coordinators of the anti-discrimination movement in an emergency meeting at Ganabhaban last Friday night. The Prime Minister himself has instructed three leaders to sit with the coordinators of the movement. Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, member of Awami League presidium, joint general secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif and agriculturist AFM Bahauddin Nashim have been given this responsibility.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the agitating ordinary students should be careful and tolerant. At the same time, the three leaders will exchange views with the agitators. Senior leaders of the 14-party alliance will also join the party.
Incidentally, there have been incidents of violence in various parts of the country since July 16 around the quota reform movement. The government has confirmed the death of 150 people in these incidents so far. Although this number is claimed to be more than two hundred in various media. Last Friday, a policeman in Khulna and a youth in Habiganj were killed in violence.
Mass march program was celebrated across the country on Friday under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement. People of various classes and professions including poets, writers, teachers, doctors, artists and artisans participated in the procession. On this day, this program was celebrated in at least 11 places in Dhaka. Among them, the program ended peacefully in all but one place in Uttara.
Anti-discrimination students have called for a protest march across the country today (Saturday) and an all-out non-cooperation movement from Sunday to protest the casualties caused by police clashes with protesters in Dhaka's Uttara, Khulna, Habiganj and Sylhet.
