US President Donald Trump has hinted that Cuba could be the next target of the United States after recent military actions in Iran and Venezuela. He made the remarks at the 'Future Investment Initiative' conference held in Saudi Arabia on Friday (March 27).

In his speech, Trump said, "I have built a huge military... sometimes it is needed; and let me tell you, Cuba is going to be the next target after that." Although he later asked reporters to avoid the comment with a somewhat sarcastic tone, his statement has sparked new discussions in the international arena.

After Trump's comments, Cuba also announced that it would strengthen its defense preparations. The country's Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio said that Cuba is now on a more cautious position due to the fear of a possible US invasion. In his words, "It is important for us to be prepared considering the world situation."

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio made harsh comments about Cuba's internal crisis. He said that Cuba's current leadership has failed to solve the energy crisis and electricity problems and that the country needs major political changes.

According to analysts, Trump's comments may not be just a political statement. Because he has previously taken a similar tough stance on Iran and Venezuela. As a result, it is feared that the United States may take more pressure or tough measures in the future regarding Cuba's current economic crisis and political instability.

In the context of a long 65-year hostile relationship, this new indication may further increase tensions in the Latin American region. Cuba has already called on the people to remain united and said that it is ready to confront any external enemy.
