Tensions in South Asia have increased further due to the ongoing exchange of fire between Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to the Afghan Defense Ministry, the country's army has launched a retaliatory operation in Islamabad in response to the recent attack by the Pakistani military. At least 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 others were injured. TOLOnews reported.

The Afghan Defense Ministry said that the operation was carried out at around 5 pm on Friday targeting an important military installation located in the Faizabad area of the Pakistani capital Islamabad. The operation has been named 'Rad-ul-Zulum', which Kabul claims was carried out as a retaliatory military action.

Military analyst Sadiq Shinwari said that through this operation, the Afghan defense forces have shown that they are capable of conducting air strikes inside Pakistan if necessary and can target important military installations.

However, there has been no official response from the Pakistani government or the country's military to the Afghan attack so far.

On the other hand, tensions are increasing in the border area. According to local officials, Pakistani military forces have continued to attack Kunar Province and Paktika Province in eastern Afghanistan. Kunar Information and Culture Department Head Ziaurrahman Spinghar said that Pakistani forces have fired at least 271 rockets at different districts of Kunar in the last 48 hours.

According to analysts, the situation could deteriorate rapidly due to long-standing border tensions and military clashes between the two countries. If the exchange of attacks continues after the collapse of diplomatic talks, the security situation in South Asia could become more complicated.
