Abbas Araghchi and Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud have spoken on the phone for the first time in the context of the recent tensions between Iran and the United States. The talks are being seen as an important diplomatic step in the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the latest situation in the region in the phone call. In addition, detailed discussions were held on ways to reduce tensions to restore security and stability.

The contact took place immediately after the two-week ceasefire announced between Iran and the United States, which is being considered part of efforts to normalize the situation.

It is worth noting that since late February, as tensions continued to rise, Iran launched missile and drone attacks in the Gulf region. This damaged Saudi Arabia's important energy infrastructure, especially the East-West oil pipeline.

Earlier, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal had warned that these Iranian actions had seriously damaged the relationship of trust between the two countries. He clearly stated that Iran has never been a strategic partner of Saudi Arabia.

According to analysts, the recent phone call carries positive signals in reducing tensions in the Middle East. It has the potential to rebuild relations between the two countries as well as strengthen regional peace and stability.
