Nepal has taken a major political step on allegations of abuse of power and nepotism. The country's Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Deepak Kumar Shah has been dismissed from the ministry. Prime Minister Balendra Shah took the decision on Thursday (April 9) based on the recommendation of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Party (RSP) on allegations of violation of party discipline.

Party sources said that RSP Chairman Ravi Lamichhane formally requested the Prime Minister to take action based on the investigation report of the party's Central Disciplinary Commission. The investigation revealed that Minister Deepak Kumar Shah misused his power to influence his wife Junu Shrestha to remain as a member of the Health Insurance Board.

According to the complaint, the minister used official power to retain his wife in this position, which has been inactive for a long time, which is against party policy and good governance. The RSP believes that the matter is harmful to the party's image. Later, it was recommended to take disciplinary action against him as per the party constitution.

The Prime Minister's Office said that Deepak Kumar Shah has been relieved from the ministry as per the party's recommendation. At the same time, a warning has been issued to Health and Population Minister Nisha Mehta for not playing a responsible role in this issue.

The government said that this strict decision has been taken to ensure good governance and transparency. The incident has sparked widespread discussion in Nepal's political arena.
