US troops in Israel to counter missiles

The US is providing Israel with a state-of-the-art defense system to counter ballistic missile attacks. The BBC reported this information in a report on Sunday. The state-of-the-art defense system is supposed to strengthen "Israel's posture against ballistic missiles." In particular, it will serve to protect Israel from future missile attacks by Iran.
As the defense system is very complex, 80 to 100 US troops will go to Israel to manage it, CNN reported.
The US Department of Defense has confirmed the deployment of troops and new defense systems to Israel. "The President has authorized the deployment of the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense Battery and its associated troops to Israel to bolster Israel's defenses following an attack by Iran," they said in the statement.
