New US sanctions on Iran's oil sector

The United States has imposed new sanctions on Iran's oil sector.
The sanctions are mainly imposed on companies and vehicles associated with Iran's oil trade and transportation. The ban was jointly imposed by the US Treasury Department and the State Department on Friday.
Earlier on October 1, Iran attacked Israel with 181 ballistic missiles. It said the attack was in retaliation for the deaths of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. Washington said Friday's moves added Iran's oil and petrochemical industries to a list of sectors that Tehran uses to finance its ballistic missile and nuclear programs. The move opened the door for the US to impose more sanctions against Iran.
