Nobel Prize in Literature announced today

The Nobel Prize in Literature will be announced today (October 10). The winners will be announced at a ceremony in the Swedish capital Stockholm on Thursday at 1 pm local time (5 pm Bangladesh time). In 2023, Norwegian writer and playwright Jon Fosse won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Swedish Academy praised the drama and literature written by Yon Fosse, saying that he brought out many things that remained unspoken in his writings.
French poet and essayist Sully Prudhomme (1839-1907) won the first Nobel Prize in literature in 1901.
As per tradition, the names of the Nobel Prize winners in medicine are announced on October 7, the first Monday of October.
On Monday, two American scientists, Victor Ambrose and Gary Ravkan, were jointly announced as the winners of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Medicine or Pharmacology.
The Karolinska Institute's Nobel Assembly said the prize was awarded to them for their discovery of microRNAs and their role in post-transcriptional gene regulation.
On Tuesday, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton was jointly awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics.
According to the Academy, they have been awarded for fundamental discoveries and innovations that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.
On Wednesday, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences honored American scientist David Baker for computational protein design and British scientists Demis Hassabis and John M. Jumper was jointly awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for predicting protein structure.
A shortlist of 300 people is made every year for the Nobel Prize. After the screening, the award is given to one or more people in different categories.
The prize has been awarded annually by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences since 1901. The award is given in the name and legacy of Swedish scientist and inventor of dynamite, Alfred Nobel, 5 years after his death. Later in 1969 economics was added to it.
The prize money is handed over to the winners every year on December 10, the day of Alfred Nobel's death. Prize winners in each case receive a medal, a diploma with certificate and currently 11 million Swedish kroner.

On October 11, the winner of the most interesting Nobel Peace Prize will be announced. The winner will be announced by the Nobel Institute in Norway. 11 am local time Bangladesh time 3 pm.
The sixth and final award for the Economy category will be announced on October 14. After that, the Nobel Prize announcement will officially end this year. 11:45 am local time. 3:45 pm Bangladesh time.
