Three members of the same family killed by slitting throats in Laxmipur

Three members of the same family lost their lives in a tragic murder in Raipur, Laxmipur. They were rescued from a rented house in the Denayatpur area of ​​the municipal town on Thursday morning and taken to the hospital, where doctors declared the three dead. Another family member is undergoing treatment in a serious condition in the incident.

The deceased include the head of the family Shahinur Begum (38), her college-going daughter Iqra Akhter (18) and younger daughter Shifa Akhter (9). The elder daughter Chayma (21), who is a university student, was seriously injured. She has been sent to Dhaka for better treatment as her condition deteriorated.

Police said that the deceased's home is in Latiya village in Homna upazila of Comilla. Shahinur Begum's husband died of electrocution a few years ago. After that, she was living in that house in Raipur with her children.

According to initial information, four members of the family were seriously injured in the attack by miscreants in the morning. The locals rescued them and took them to the hospital, where the three were declared dead. The injured Chhayma was immediately shifted to the capital for better treatment.

After the incident, the locals detained a suspect and thrashed him before handing him over to the police. He has also been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. Law enforcement is investigating his involvement.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police of Raipur Circle said that an investigation has been launched at the scene. The reason behind the murder, the motive of the attack and whether anyone else is involved in it are being seriously investigated.

A shadow of mourning has descended on the area after the incident. The police have collected various evidence from the scene and are talking to witnesses. The authorities concerned have said that the real reason for the murder will be revealed in detail once the investigation is completed.
