Former Member of Parliament of Bhola-4 (Charfashion-Manpura) Constituency Abdullah Al Jacob has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. He was arrested from Gulshan in the capital in a case of Savar police station.
Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter on Tuesday morning.
In 2012, a case was filed against MP Jacob along with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on charges of attempted murder by shooting at BNP leaders and activists. Nazim Uddin, the former MP of Bhola-4 Constituency, appealed the case in the court of Dhaka Judicial Magistrate SM Saiful Islam on Thursday. After recording the statement of the plaintiff, the court directed Savar Model Police Station to take the complaint as a statement. DB police arrested from Gulshan of that complaint.
