Miscreants attacked, vandalized and set fire to the house of former Member of Parliament HM Ibrahim of Noakhali-1 Constituency (Chatkhil and Sonaimuri parts). The incident took place in Khilpara village of Chatkhil upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

After the attackers left, residents of the surrounding area, school-college and madrasa students came and doused the fire. No one was injured in the attack, vandalism and arson.
Talking to eyewitnesses and local residents, it is known that 40-50 miscreants on motorcycles attacked the village house of former Awami League member of parliament HM Ibrahim yesterday afternoon from the direction of Dattapara area of ​​Lakshmipur. The miscreants broke the main gate of the house and entered and attacked, vandalized and set fire to all the rooms in the three-story building. At that time, they set fire to a car in the courtyard of the house. Seeing the situation, the people of the house ran away.
Attempts to contact HM Ibrahim and his family members to inquire about the attack could not be reached.
General Secretary of Chatkhil Upazila BNP Mohammad Hanif told Prothom Alo that they are very embarrassed about the incidents of attack, vandalism and arson. No one from BNP or Jamaat is involved in the attack on the former member of parliament's house. It is learned from the local people that the terrorists came from Dattapara area of ​​Lakshmipur and carried out this attack. He expressed his anger and condemnation of this incident.
District Police Superintendent Mohammad Asaduzzaman said that he heard about the attack, vandalism and arson. The matter is being investigated.
Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman said that after hearing the news of the attack, vandalism and arson of the house of the former member of parliament, he immediately asked the army members to go to the spot.
